ST. LOUIS, MO, October 24, 2019 – The Tanglefoot Art Gallery, the first fine art gallery located on historic Main Street in Festus, MO, has its grand opening event on Saturday, November 2 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

The opening exhibit will highlight the works of five St. Louis-area contemporary artists including oil paintings by gallery founder Rick Bayers, ceramics by Claudia Ruth Burris, woodturning by Mike Uding, glass works by Lisa Becker, and gourd art sculpture by Julie Beard. Refreshments will be served, and live music will be performed by cellist Jake Brookman.

“I am fortunate to have met many amazing artists over the years and am excited to feature their work along with my oil paintings. It has always been my dream to open an art gallery, and when my wife Sheryl and I found this great space, I knew the time was right,” says Rick Bayers, owner of the Tanglefoot Art Gallery. “Our goal is to display various types of artwork created by regional and local artists that the public can admire and purchase for their homes or their businesses.”

Conveniently, the art gallery is located inside the same building as Cobblestone Frame and Art. This will make it easy for those who wish to purchase a custom artist signed print or an original painting from the gallery and then purchase an accompanying frame that complements the colors and design style of their home or office.

The Tanglefoot Art Gallery is the newest addition to historic Main Street and the first fine art gallery in the area. The stylishly contemporary gallery exhibits emerging, mid-career, and established artists’ unique works of wood, glass, ceramic, and oil on canvas.

The mission of Tanglefoot Art Gallery is to represent and show some of the finest artwork by local artists and provide educational painting lessons and workshops for people of all ages who have an interest in art. The gallery aims to unite the community and provide a cultural gathering place for people who appreciate fine art.
